...because they are considered the first great gourmets in history. The ancient Romans loved fine cuisine, and that is exactly what we offer in our hotel & restaurant in Obertauern, with a splash of sophistication and a lot of inspiration.

Culinary breaks right on the piste
In order to remain balanced, wealthy Romans mainly worked only in the mornings, enjoyed a hearty lunch, or “prandium”, before finishing off their remaining work and heading to the baths. “Cena”, or dinner, started as early as 3.00 p.m. and often went on long into the night, ending in a prolonged drinking session.

Don’t worry - we haven’t adopted this particular practice! If you fancy a snack or an afternoon treat, head to our restaurant in Obertauern, enjoy the sun terrace and fantastic views of the pistes and indulge yourself with our daily à la carte menu. The varied cake buffet, which is included in our gourmet half board, rounds off our culinary offering with a range of sweet treats.
