Your room will be ready from 3:00 pm. Of course, you are welcome to arrive earlier. If you wish, you can even join us for breakfast (at an additional charge), so you can start your first holiday day well-fuelled and full of energy on the slopes.
Please vacate your room by 11:00 am at the latest. You are welcome to make the most of your last holiday day and enjoy the slopes. We will happily store your luggage free of charge and provide somewhere for you to change. You may also leave your car in our underground garage free of charge.
If you would like to extend your stay a little, we offer the following late check-out options, subject to availability:
- Late check-out in your room: €90.00 per room – including afternoon snack and use of our wellness area
- Day SPA access: €25.00 per person – including use of our wellness area and afternoon snack
If you expect to arrive after 8:00 pm, please let us know by telephone in advance.
Room cancellations are only valid in writing. The following general cancellation terms apply:
- Up to 3 months before arrival: free of charge
- Up to 1 month before arrival: 40% of the total amount
- Up to 1 week before arrival: 70% of the total amount
- Within 1 week of arrival: 90% of the total amount

The Römerhof is situated at 1,752 metres above sea level in the heart of Obertauern, right in the snow-sure winter sports area.
Yes, the Römerhof is located right on the slopes. Forget carrying heavy equipment or walking long distances: our own ski bridge (no. 4) takes you conveniently from the ski storage room straight onto the slopes in the morning. After a wonderful day in the snow, simply ski right back to the hotel door – winter holidays in Obertauern could hardly be more convenient.
From the Römerhof, you can easily reach the Kirchbühllift, Sonnenlift, Grünwaldkopfbahn and Zehnerkarbahn lifts. Thanks to our slopeside location, you can start skiing without a car and join the famous Tauernrunde circuit directly.
One free underground parking space is available per room (maximum vehicle height: 2.60 m).
Yes. Even after check-out, you can leave your car in our underground garage free of charge on your departure day. We are also happy to store your luggage free of charge, and changing facilities are available. This means you can still enjoy the slopes on your last holiday day.

Yes. The RömerBAR offers several types of fondue, including meat fondue in oil, broth fondue, cheese fondue and Tatar hat grilling. Reservations are required. The RömerBAR is open daily from 6:00 pm, except Tuesdays.
Yes. Non-resident guests can also reserve a table in the restaurant on request. Advance reservations are required for fondue evenings at the RömerBAR.
The Römer Mountain SPA covers more than 1,200 m² and is divided into two connected areas: the Family SPA and the Adults Only SPA for guests aged 16 and over.
The Adults Only SPA is reserved for guests aged 16 and over and offers plenty of space to unwind, with indoor and outdoor pools, a panoramic sauna, a saltwater steam bath and various relaxation areas.
The Family SPA is designed for shared wellness time with the whole family. It features an indoor pool, a swimwear sauna area, a whirlpool overlooking the ski slopes and comfortable relaxation areas.
The Adults Only SPA is available to guests aged 16 and over.
Children aged 3 and over may use the swimwear sauna area in the Family SPA when accompanied by an adult.

We issue half-day, day and multi-day passes valid for up to 8 days directly at the hotel. A recent passport-style photograph is required for ski passes valid for 9 days or more.
The Obertauern ski area offers around 100 kilometres of slopes for varied skiing enjoyment.
Yes. You can join the cross-country ski trail directly from the Römerhof, without any additional travel.
Snowshoe hikes are offered by Skischule Koch, among others.
Horse-drawn sleigh rides are available in Obertauern and can be arranged on request.
Obertauern also offers winter sports opportunities away from the groomed slopes. Ski School Koch offers ski tours off the pistes, among other activities.
The Römerhof partners with Skischule Koch, which offers a range of ski and snowboard courses and other winter sports activities.
For very young children, the meeting point is directly at the Römerhof. Regular ski courses start at the lower station of the Sonnenlift, approximately 300 metres away. The hotel ski instructor is also available at the hotel for personal advice.

Yes. In our Kids & Play Area, younger guests can play, explore and spend time together. An interactive I-Wall, table tennis, table football and an interactive play table provide plenty of variety. For our youngest guests, the Kids Area is the ideal place for crafts, painting and playing, with a Lego corner, wall games, a play kitchen, a children’s computer and much more.
Skischule Koch offers special ski courses for children. Lunchtime supervision is also available on request, so children can be looked after during the lunch break.
There is plenty for children and teenagers to experience in Obertauern beyond the ski slopes. Activities include sledging, winter and snowshoe hiking, horse-drawn sleigh rides and ice climbing at Johanneswasserfall. Snow Segway tours, e-fatbiking and snowbiking offer even more variety.

Your dog is very welcome at the Römerhof and can accompany you on your winter holiday.
Your dog is welcome to stay with you in selected rooms with wooden flooring – Double Room Natur, Double Room Deluxe Natur and Junior Suite Bergliebe.
To cover the additional cleaning required, we charge €45.00 per dog per day. Please bring your dog’s usual food, as this is not included in the price.
Out of consideration for the comfort of all guests, please understand that dogs are not permitted in the restaurant, including the Zirbenstube, buffet areas or Römer SPA.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hotel. You are welcome to smoke in the heated smoking lounge beside the hotel entrance.
